WP-ReferStat

WP-Referstat is an add-on to the popular WP-ShortStat by Jeff Minard. It came from my need to view more details about incoming referrers than what is made available in the ShortStat tab.
In addition, the plugin also supports Snap Preview Anywhere (”SPA”) if the SPA Wordpress plugin is installed.

How It Works

The plugin uses the existing code and database infrastructure of WP-ShortStat to render referral details in a separate tab where more information may be displayed. The plugin uses the stats table, named wp_ss_stats by default, to display not only the hostname of the referrer, but also the URL resource. This helps the blog admin to better understand what pages are being referred to by a link from another site or a search engine query.

Requirements

• Wordpress 2.x (Tested on Wordpress 2.1)
• WP-ShortStat v1.3.x (Tested on WP-ShortStat v1.3.1)
• Optional: SPA Wordpress plugin (Tested on SPA Wordpress Plugin v1.2)

Installation

It is assumed that a Wordpress 2.x blog is already installed and functioning, along with a supported and working version of WP-ShortStat.

• Download the WP-Referstat plugin and extract to the wp-content/plugins directory of your Wordpress installation
• Activate the plugin by going to the Plugins tab
• View the new tab by clicking on the new Dashboard->ReferStat tab
