I would like to learn more about audio compression. Is there a video tutorial that explains how to use compression. I have a basic DBX compressor and my problem is I can't seem to quiet the loud notes so they don't over power the low notes,(for a more even bass guitar sound) or do I need a limter for this problem?

[...] The reason I even mention this article is that this was a subject of a recent post on this blog. Techdirt doesn’t get the issue, since the issue isn’t about the mp3 format, it is about the dynamic range of the music (aka audio compression, not to be confused with data compression that mp3s are known for).
