Friday Dream Projects Week 3: Media Management Edition
Things have been quite busy on my Rails project this week, so I only have 2 projects for you:
- A better Windows XP version of iTunes - I use iTunes mostly as a podcatcher and iPod synchronization tool. I’ve bookmarked a couple of substitutes (with no time to evaluate them yet), but I’d love to find something that can keep my podcasts updated and in sync with my iPod. I’d also love to have it routinely scan my fileshares and add/remove items from my library (is that too much to ask?). I enjoy GOM Player, so something that embedded that would be perfect!
- Music de-duplicator - I rip my CD collection to my fileserver, and due to filespace limitations, had to split my collection across 2 shares. I’d love something that would find and allow me to trim my duplicate songs that I see show up in iTunes, without having to drop to the share, find them, and delete them by hand.
