Friday dream projects
Inspired by Christopher Hawkins, here is my first in a series of dream projects I’d love to build or see built.
- Remember the Customer - A user interface and API not unlike Remember The Milk for Lead Management. It may not take much to craft RTM into an RTC, just a few well-placed fields for synchronization between RTC and your app.
- Find Podcasts by Resolution/Quality - Other than iTunes, I haven’t found a video podcast directory that guides me to any podcast, regardless of genre, that supports 720p+. I have a nice 27″ widescreen monitor on my PC and like to explore new HD-quality podcasts during my coding breaks
- Browser-only version of PicLens. Let me pic photos from a popular site, add them to a photoblog (I should be able to have more than one to select from), and let the photoblog rotate photos hourly, daily, or weekly. My photoblog should have no ads, simply display the photo (centered) with my choice of background color and an RSS icon for subscribing to the feed. The intent is self-expression, not self-promotion. Bonus points: a simple desktop app to change my wallpaper on Windows or OS X using the RSS feed.
Seen a solution to one of the dream projects listed above? Post a comment and let me know what I’m missing.
